Buckland writes the best candle magic books hands down always has. My friend is a brilliant psychic medium (the only one I know that is not full of crap personally, Kat Burson) and she loves his Tarot book. I can’t speak to that, but I have used his candle magic(k) books my entire adult life (decades) and I think they are the best overall. Now, I was the kid in the library reading the library as a child...so I’ve always been a bit odd. You want degrees I have degrees, and I’ve studied every kind of mythology for kicks...some I’ve incorporated into my graduate studies...That being said...I’ve read tons candle magic books...His are not the easiest to read. But the structure is there and how and what to do with the candles and the intent. Where to put them and why. He also given you tons of this is how to set this up and we’re going to do this over a week and move this from here to here. And he give you a laundry list of spells, which most people like. So, I’ll slap this review on both of his books.Practical and advanced:)
Raymond Buckland is, in my opinion, one of the greats and opens the doorway to learning and from there adding your own special personal touch as well as thoughts concerning candle magick. While I may not do everything according to Mr. Buckland's ideals I certainly put him in the fore front of helping me learn as I walk the path I have chosen.
Another book added to my Wiccan collection, love Raymond Buckland. Strongly recommend
I thought this was a very thorough explanation of ritual candle magick. Buckland covers everything from timing, color corespondences, moon phases, and even how to make your own candles. I would recomend this book to both the novice and well versed adept alike. There is something in here for everyone. If your a fan of Bucklands books this one is a must read.
:)
While Buckland is not a favorite author of mine, I have to give him credit on his candle magic books. Easy to easy to read with many examples and diagrams, would liked to have seen actual candle layouts in color with real candles. Very good candle magic information.
I don't always agree with Buckland, but I respect his work in the Craft and can learn much from him. This is one of the only advanced candle magick books out there, so what's not to like? Maybe I should write one and give him a bit of competition!
i love it
