I liked this book just like I've enjoyed the rest of the series but I had to give it a 4 star instead of a 5 because of one irritating thing Keta did. This part will be a spoiler alert so if you don't want that please disregard this review. The story is about Laura and Beverly, Meghans best friends receiving help from Aaron and Ansels friends, Dax and D. The problem I had was when it came to the couples. Dax and Laura got together like we knew they would but when it came to D and Beverly. That didn't happen. Now to be completely fair, the story has mostly been about Laura and Dax with D and Bev appearing a handful of times so it's easy to say based off of that, that anything could've went and you'd be right. The problem with that though is These four have been the only main characters in this book for most of the story. Beverly's part of the book doesn't even start til around 61% and that's when they reunite with Meghan for her wedding. That's also where Keta introduces Bev's real love interest Luke, who is also part of Aaron and Ansel's gang. Now I don't have a problem per say with Keta throwing a curve ball and not putting Beverly with D like I thought she would. I have a problem when it seems like that's what she was going with. They had an attraction to each other and eventually developed a real friendship. Leaving you to believe that something could possibly happen between them only to throw a wrench in that plan by introducing Luke into the mix when we're more than half way through the book. Personally I don't think that's good writing and it's one of my pet peeves with authors. Don't start making it seem as though you're going to put these two characters together only to change it midway. Besides that, the book is good but I do want readers to prepare for that so they don't get thrown for a loop like I did. Bev gets a man, it's just not D. Also again, I warned that this would be a spoiler so don't get mad if you've made it this far and don't like what I revealed. I do hope D's story is next since she robbed us of him getting someone in this book.
OMG! This was awesome! Keta Kendric has done it again. The Twisted Mind Series is white hot sexy! Each book keeps bringing the heat with sexy brooding alphas and black girl magic!Dax showed up and showed out! If anybody could handle Laura, he can. For a minute I thought Derrick was going to hook up with Beverly, but I think Luke is perfect for her. It’s good to see what was going on in Texas while Aaron, Megan and Ansel and Regina were holding court in Cali. I know this can’t be the end for these couples or the other Special Forces crew. Wonder what Kadeem has to say, especially since Dax knows how he may say she’s like a little sister but he doesn’t look at her like one.
This was a decent read. I have read all of the twisted novels and I loved each one until now. Did this book really just end this way? I hope there is a part 2 because the way this book concluded has me wondering what the freak just happened and did KK really do that to us? As much as I loved this book I can't recommend it bc of the ending. The ending ruined it for me even though 99.1% of the book was really great. I had waited and hoped for Beverly' s and Laura's story. I knew they would get one bc they were too interesting not to have their own story; but to end it like this, with no hint of a possible book 2 coming is unacceptable. So, I really give this book 2.5 stars bc the ending ruined the rest of the book.
When we were first introduced to these characters in previous books I just knew they needed their own stories. Only downside is I believe this should have been two books with Laura and Beverly having their own stories. Laura and Dax took up most of the book. I didn't mind the switch up between D and Luke when it came to Beverly. But I do think her and Luke's story was rushed through. Still it was worth the wait!
Ms kendric when you wrote this book , you knew what you were doing. It has women who can handle dangerous situations with just as much force as their man, love this kind of book you remind me of the author blue Safire, and her book's you don't have or women acting like silly girls who only know how to complain and give up the sex . 57 chapters and all we're exciting, thrill on every page. I want more from you like this. Please.
I liked the book but I had to give it 4 stars .Why because I didn't expect Beverly not to be with D also the story didn't match up for one how did the guy in kartel knew the names of everyone the group.
Laura, Beverly, Dax and Luke were awesome. I can't wait for Derrick's story. I know it will be amazing!! Even though Laura, Beverly and Megan's childhoods were terrible, I am glad they had each other to rely on and that they were still so close as adults.
What?????? My mind was fully blown when all was revealed. These girls were something else! Fearless since teens. I loved every bit of this story. Hopefully this will not be the last we get to hear from this Twisted bunch.
